I have come full circle
For 20+ years I have sewn quilts. I had 2 shops on Etsy. Eggmoneyquilts- People sent me their t-shirts and I designed and made them a quilt. I also made and sold patchwork quilts in my shop QuiltsModern.
I took a few years off and started a small flower farm that keeps me busy for 6 months a year. But I always had the desire to create and sew.
Vintage quilts have a special place in my heart. My Granny and my Mom both were very skilled quilters. I on the other hand do not like to follow patterns and my quilts always turned out "crazy" Now I get to touch and hold vintage quilts and repurpose them into useful items.
How I work
Soak & Wash
Every vintage quilt gets a good soak and wash.
Salvage
I cut out the salvageable parts of the quilts.
Design & Sew
This is the fun part. Deciding how to combine and sew the quilts parts.
