Tulip Quilt
The tulip quilt had been around for awhile! Still had a lot of beauty to share.
Some quilts just have a story written all over them. This tulip quilt came to me with years of love already stitched into every seam. The fabrics were faded in that beautiful, soft way that only comes with time and use.
The tulip block is one of my favorites — it is cheerful and graphic without being fussy. This particular version used a combination of appliqué and piecing that I had not seen before, which made it extra interesting to study.
After a gentle hand wash and some careful pressing, the quilt came back to life beautifully. The colors, though softened by age, still had real warmth and charm. It reminded me why I love working with vintage textiles so much.
I ended up listing a few of the salvaged blocks in my Etsy shop, and they found homes with quilters who wanted to incorporate them into new projects. That feels like exactly the right ending for a quilt with this much history.
